China has revealed new models of armored vehicles that will be showcased for the first time in a military parade in Beijing, including a tank, an armored personnel carrier, and an infantry fighting vehicle.
Unlike global trends of creating heavy tanks over 60 tons, Chinese engineers opted for lighter and more compact vehicles, with the tank weighing between 35 and 40 tons, equipped with a 1500-horsepower hybrid engine, capable of reaching up to 84 km/h on roads and 40-60 km/h on rough terrain.
The new tank features a 105 mm gun, which, despite its smaller caliber, maintains comparable kinetic energy to heavier models thanks to the high initial velocity of the penetrating projectiles. The armored personnel carrier has gained an amphibious compartment, enhanced armor with ceramic elements, a new weapon, and an active defense system. The infantry fighting vehicle will be equipped with a 30-35 mm automatic cannon, increasing its firepower.
The exhibition in Beijing marks the demonstration of China’s vision for modern armored vehicles, focusing on mobility, mass production, and efficiency.
Last year, the VT-4 tank, also featured in parades, failed during a test, highlighting the challenges still surrounding the modernization of the country’s armored forces.

Hmm seems like there is a different vehicle that is an IFV (pic1) although still fairly well equipped with APS and sensors, while the other one is less clear; enhanced IFV, recce IFV, direct fire support (pic2-3)?
The new tank (pic4) has nice longitudinal symmetry. https://t.co/8YiOvKfw9u pic.twitter.com/a9TI3l6fPo
